Do you like to write?; participates from Fontibón in Bogotá in 100 words

The third edition of the contest "Bogota in 100 words" will be open between April 26 and July 19. if you are interested you can register and send your story through the platform www.bogotaen100palabras.com. The contest will also be accompanied by a training component, which aims to provide creative writing tools to those who want to participate. 

This initiative of the Mayor's Office of Bogotá is one of the actions of the Reading and Writing District Plan Leer es Volar, which has as main objective to promote and encourage written culture in the city and has the support of the Ministries of Education and Culture , Recreation and Sports, as well as the District Arts Institute (Idartes), the Colombian Book Chamber and the Plagio Foundation of Chile, with the support of Caracol Radio.

The official image of the 2019 edition is by the Bogota illustrator Sindy Elefante, who was the winner of the call made by the Colombian Chamber of Books, through the Colombian Association of Children and Youth Literature (ACLIJ).

Four prizes will be awarded: a single winner and three mentions, one for each category (children, youth and adults).


In this edition, the jury is formed, in each category, by the following personalities:

● Child: Albeiro Echavarría. Journalist and writer specialized in children's literature. Among his books are: "Cristina Carrot" (2007), "Clan Veracruz Street" (2009), "Rosa, the capricious mule" (2010) and "Conspiracy in Magasthur" (2011).

● Juvenile: Amalia Andrade. Writer, illustrator and journalist. She has worked as an editor at Bacánika, Vive.in and Fucsia Magazine, and has written for magazines such as Shock and SoHo. Among his books are: "One always changes to the love of his life (for another love or for another life)," "Things you think when you bite your nails" and "Tarot magicomístico of stars (pop)."

● Adults: Margarita Valencia. Editor, translator, literary critic, researcher and teacher. He has written books like "Unchained Words" and "A Herd of Elephants".
